Originally I come from Berlin and nature has always fascinated me, unfortunately it took until I finished school when I discovered the highly diverse ecosystem coral reefs. I got my diver certificate and decided to study biology. I finished in 2010 with my diploma thesis about coral reefs in the Egyptian Red Sea and was luckily afterwards to start my PhD at the Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT) in Bremen under supervision of Christian Wild.
Since the beginning of May until August 2011 I am at KAUST in the group of Christian Voolstra and try to use the fantastic opportunities here to elucidate the effects of simulated overfishing and nutrient enrichment on corals and the benthic community on settling tiles
